HSBC Spartans drive large-scale AI deployment and advanced data analytics
At HSBC, Spartans are driving both large-scale AI deployment and advanced data analytics:
- AI Deployment & Governance: Spartans within the compliance and Real Time Communications teams have facilitated the mass rollout of the Zoom AI Companion to 80% of the bank. This involved navigating complex regulatory approvals in the MENAT and APAC regions. To support this, they built Power BI performance monitoring dashboards to track user survey data, feedback, and progression, which was critical for gaining approvals from the bank’s Model Risk team.
- Data Science & Analytics: Spartans use Python, SQL, and Power BI to build advanced analytical tools. Examples include a “Data Loss Recovery Tool” that analyses metadata to find backups of lost interactions, and an “Applications Dashboard” that flags vulnerable software packages to prevent security breaches. Additionally, they are utilising Python to automate Jira/Zephyr testing processes and creating dashboards to highlight data mismatches in employee records.
