Our Spartans come from all over the world, bringing unique international perspectives and high-level academic foundations to our clients. A prime example is Jesimiel Manza, who completed his Master’s and Engineering degree in Computer Engineering in France. After living there for over a decade, Jesimiel moved to England in mid-2025 to build a long-term career.

With a clear plan to relocate, he just needed the right platform to help him break into the competitive UK tech market.

“Fortunately for me, Sparta Global gave me that platform to work in a great company,” says Jesimiel. “I do not believe that I could have gotten this opportunity if it wasn’t for Sparta, and I am incredibly grateful for that.”

Bridging the gap to deployment

Having a strong academic baseline is powerful, but adapting and applying that knowledge to the immediate needs of a fast-paced corporate environment is where the Sparta Global AI & Tech Institute thrives.

“The training was incredibly helpful because it prepared me directly to be operational from day one,” Jesimiel explains. “First, it equipped me with general knowledge to work in data, then the team tweaked the training according to my specific profile and tailored it to exactly what companies need today. Not only do we learn technical skills, but we also focus heavily on soft skills.”

Overcoming client demands

Transitioning into a major client project always brings a learning curve. For Jesimiel, the biggest hurdle was rapidly getting up to speed with the demands of his first role with an Insurance client. He attributes overcoming this challenge to three distinct pillars of support:

  • Core Business Skills: “The business skills we learned at Sparta were essential—how to act in a team, the attitude and mindset you need to maintain progress, and how to communicate effectively. These are core competencies I rely on every single day.”
  • Industry-Standard Technical Resources: “Sparta’s learning pathways cover the exact tools used in the industry. For most of the tools I use daily, Sparta provided the fundamentals before I landed on-site.”
  • Continuous Support Network: “The support from the Sparta team has been seamless. Knowing that help was readily available made me feel like I wasn’t alone in my deployment.”

Inside a typical day in Agile Data Engineering

Today, Jesimiel is working within an Agile framework where the core objective is a major cloud transformation: transferring critical data from a legacy system over to Snowflake.

A typical workday revolves around ticket delivery. “I start by going over my assigned tasks, reviewing what I achieved the day prior, and planning my day,” he says. “I then dive into completing my tickets, collaborating closely with my teammates and manager.”

The team gathers mid-morning for a daily stand-up to share progress, flag blockers, and realign. “When I finish a task and am waiting for a new one, I communicate proactively with my manager to understand what he envisions next. Because Agile was a core component we practiced at Sparta, I was able to translate that learning directly to add value for the client.”

Achieving impact and embracing the future of AI

It did not take long for Jesimiel to make a significant impact, soon being asked to step up as the main contributor for a major epic. “I planned out the task sequentially and delivered the work highly efficiently. That win made me feel incredibly confident in my abilities and validated my training.”

Jesimiel is also actively involved in the client’s forward-thinking tech culture, where AI and automation are highly encouraged.

“In my team, my manager and I discuss how to leverage the strengths of AI for our tasks. Automation is a massive part of our workflow—especially for repetitive tasks like evidence generation for tickets and our deployment pipelines. However, AI should be used as a support mechanism, not the main force. It’s still crucial to be able to do the work without it.”

A launchpad for any career stage

Reflecting on his journey from a graduate in France to an impactful Data Engineer in the UK, Jesimiel highly recommends the AI & Tech Institute.

“Going through Sparta Global is incredibly helpful no matter what your previous experience level is. The training is of exceptionally high quality and actively prepares you to step in and make an immediate impact.”
