Why did you decide Sparta Global was the right path for you?

Initially I studied BA Business Management with Finance at the University of Leicester, and followed up with a Masters degree in the same subject area. After completing my study, I started searching for graduate programmes in business analysis – focusing on those that promised to provide exceptional training and development and an opportunity to work with some of the largest organisations.

Sparta Global appealed to me from the offset as I was looking for an opportunity that would provide me with the continuous learning and development I wanted and a chance to progress my career. This seemed very attainable with Sparta Global.

How did you find your training at the Academy?

The training experience at the Academy was intense. Though it was challenging, I thoroughly enjoyed the pace of the training sessions. The interactive learning methods used by our trainer helped keep us engaged and created a wonderful Academy experience. I am very grateful for the training experience I received and it really prepared me to achieve my goals; how to manage hard work, the ability to deal with challenges in the workplace and maintaining a complete professional image. I believe the constant feedback sessions, continuous self-assessment and regular interactive group activities helped me push my own boundaries and come out for my placement, stronger and more focused.

Tell us about your current position and company.

I am working as a Business Analyst in the finance division of a sporting organisation based in Wembley. It has been the ideal start to a technology career for me as I had always wanted to combine my financial knowledge with digital.

My role is a mixture of Project Management, Business Analysis and Testing. While I work predominantly in the finance area – given my background in this field of study - most of the projects I work on involve working with both IT and finance stakeholders. My main focus is assisting the project team on their finance transformation, which successfully went live in February 2020.

More recently I’ve been working on initiatives for further improvements in this area which would steer the firm from manual processing towards automation.

How did it feel to be named Spartan of the month?

It was very overwhelming - I was honoured that I was even considered for the privilege!

However, I was very content with myself on delivering the financial transformation, which I was originally contracted for. It was a journey full of challenges and to achieve that and get recognition for my hard work and perseverance is very humbling.

Would you recommend Sparta Global to other graduates and if so – why?

Definitely! I have had such a positive experience and it has provided me with the opportunity to start my career and learn by working for a huge client. Its strong brand and reviews from fellow Spartans made it easy to know Sparta Global was the right career path for me.

I believe its programme is perfect for graduates as it helps them get their foot in the door of an exciting industry with excellent training - exactly what a graduate needs!
