Congratulations for being named Spartan of the Month for January!
It was a huge surprise to receive the news and it has helped me to feel my work within the healthcare sector during Covid has helped make a small difference.
Can you tell us a bit more about how your journey with Sparta Global began?
I studied Mathematics at Brunel University in London and went on to achieve a Masters. After completing my studies, I looked for opportunities in data. Sparta Global offered training and two years of industry experience in the field I wanted to go into. Before joining Sparta Global, I was turned down a lot by companies simply for not have any practical experience.
I joined Sparta Global’s Birmingham Academy in September 2019 and was on the data course until November 2019 when I graduated from the programme!
How did you find your training at the Academy?
The Academy training was very informative and the programme allowed me to learn new skills and add to what I learned at University. My trainer was amazing at explaining and teaching both technical and business skills!
How did your training prepare you for work?
My training at the Academy has helped a lot in my current role - on a daily basis I use the lessons I learned! I use the technical skills every day to help me model and analyse projects and the business acumen I acquired has helped me to deal with clients and senior members of the organisation when handling deadlines and tasks.
You are currently a Data Analyst for a public health organisation, can you tell us a bit more about your role?
I am currently working on a vaccination project for the East of England. This means my daily tasks include modelling and analysing data from the vaccinations; we look at site capacity, new site demand, vaccine supply/demand and PPE supply.
As my first role in technology, working in healthcare for the past 12 months has been very fast paced and I have had a lot of hands-on experience. I have been able to learn a lot about how the organisation operates and I have enjoyed it a lot. My team are amazing to work with!
Would you recommend Sparta to other graduates and if so – why?
I would highly recommend Sparta Global as they have given me the skills to help in the field and provided me with the opportunity to work with the a prolific healthcare organisation at a really important time.
