Congratulations for being named Spartan of the Month!

Being named Spartan of the Month was a shock to the system! I feel very honored and grateful to have been chosen. This keeps me motivated to keep going and do even better.

Let’s go back to the very start of your Spartan journey. Why did you decide to join Sparta Global?

I had always been interested in tech but wasn’t quite sure how I would fit into that space with my skillset. I had studied Education Studies at Roehampton University, so when I found out about the Business Analysis role and training, Sparta Global provided me with the opportunity to get the training, certifications and client assignments I wouldn’t have had otherwise.

How did you find out about Sparta Global?

Actually, through my sister! My sister had already joined the Software Developer course and I followed in October 2020, joining the Business Analysis programme.

How did you find your training at the Academy?

The training at the Academy was fantastic and it really pushed me out of my comfort zone which allowed me to develop. My Trainer Zoe went above and beyond to ensure we understood what we were being taught at every stage and I am very appreciative of that.

How do you think your training prepared you for work?

The training definitely prepared me for work! Everything that I was taught at the Academy I use in my day-to-day role as a Business Analyst at the Home Office.

I work within transformation and business change, so every day is different. I could be doing investigative tasks or analyzing models or working on matrixes. However, managing and engaging with stakeholders is what I do on a regular basis. We are currently working on trying to implement changes to the wider department and working out how best we can smoothly transition people, processes and systems is now my main focus.

How have you found your first tech role?

I am really enjoying it! I work with a great team who are so supportive and encouraging of each other. At the Home Office, Angela and Amanda have been such incredible mentors to me, and I appreciate how they have eased me into the team and have shown me the ropes. Working in this role is exciting as business change is as much about psychology as it is about change and how we can best ease change in organisations. I am really enjoying it!

The tech industry is always changing and never stagnant. I love how it keeps us thinking of new ideas and approaches.

Would you recommend Sparta to other graduates?

I would definitely recommend Sparta Global to other graduates. It allows you to get your foot in the door to an industry that is incredibly difficult to otherwise!
