New faces: Lydia Hoskin, HR Manager at Sparta Global

Three weeks into her role as HR Manager at Sparta Global, we sat down with Lydia Hoskin to talk about her new position and why she is excited to work in the technology industry…

Welcome to Sparta Global Lydia! How have you found your first few weeks?
Sparta Global’s office is a fast-paced and fun working environment. Everyone is dedicated to their job and they’ve all been very welcoming. I’m really enjoying my role so far too! It’s proved to be varied and I’m already working on several exciting change projects.

Why did you decide to join Sparta Global?
Before joining Sparta I was a HR Advisor at a creative design agency in South London. While my background is mainly within the creative and media industries, Sparta is a fantastic place to learn and grow. It’s a people-focused business and my main drive is to support people in achieving their full potential in their careers. I love the idea of helping shape the face of HR in a rapidly growing company!

What are you most looking forward to achieving in your role at Sparta Global?

I’m excited to launch a new performance management system across the company and introduce annual Employee Engagement Surveys. I think it’s really important to have a platform where employees - across the country - can have their say and shape our People Strategy in the years ahead.

What excites you about working in the technology industry?
Working in a progressive industry means you’re always at the forefront of change. I’m keen to see how we can leverage this shift in HR. Plus, I’m a self-confessed nerd (massive video game and sci-fi fan) so working in the tech industry is perfect for me!

Would you recommend Sparta Global as a place to work for other people?
