James Greenhalgh

James Greenhalgh is the Director of Sparta Global’s Public Sector vertical, leading the organisation’s delivery, go-to-market strategy, and growth across UK Government and Defence. Joining Sparta Global in 2015 as an Account Executive, James has spent more than a decade shaping and expanding the company’s public sector footprint, progressing through multiple Account Manager roles before taking full ownership of the vertical in 2024.

Throughout his career at Sparta, James has earned numerous awards, including Employee of the Year and several Sales Employee of the Year accolades. His proudest achievement is transforming the public sector function into Sparta Global’s largest revenue vertical, while driving a renewed focus on permanent customer conversions. Under his leadership, Sparta now holds the highest number of permanent conversions in the UK capability development space, strengthening long-term customer relationships and reinforcing the impact of Sparta’s model.

James leads with an approachable, lead-from-the-front style, using his own performance to inspire his team and fostering an environment where people feel confident to share ideas and concerns openly. Outside of work, he’s an avid podcast listener, with a particular fondness for The Rest is Politics and The Rest is History.
