Peter Dunning

Peter Dunning is Head of Systems at Sparta Global, responsible for the group’s enterprise platforms, IT estate, information security and systems strategy across its international operations. Since joining Sparta in 2019, Peter’s remit has grown from managing the company’s Salesforce environment to overseeing the technology infrastructure that supports the wider business, including Salesforce, Certinia, XCD, Microsoft 365 and Sparta’s security and compliance standards.

Peter also plays a key role in Sparta’s approach to AI governance and adoption. He established the company’s first AI governance function in 2025. Combining strong governance with practical innovation, Peter has developed AI agents grounded in live business data, helping Sparta explore how emerging technology can improve internal operations while maintaining appropriate human oversight.

Before joining Sparta, Peter worked at American Express Global Business Travel and Hogg Robinson Group, where he gained experience implementing Salesforce for global sales teams. He is passionate about developing technical talent, creating opportunities based on aptitude and potential, and building the robust systems and governance that allow organisations to innovate with confidence..
