Do I need tech experience or a STEM degree to apply for a role at Sparta Global?

Absolutely not. We hire individuals based on their attitude, aptitude and potential for success in a digital role. We test for this through a compilation of psychometric, written, and verbal assessments when someone applies for a role. The success of an individual's application is based on this and not prior experience or education. Please note, with some roles technical tests are required, but we provide learning materials in advance to support those from non-tech backgrounds. 

Do Spartans have to pay for the training?

No. Training is the first stage of employment with Sparta Global, therefore we fund the full 8-10 weeks of training that every Spartan must complete before being assigned to work on a client site. 

Do Spartans get paid when they are in training?

Yes. Spartans receive a salary throughout their training period, with a pay increase when they are a qualified Spartan and working on-site with one of our clients.

Training with us is full-time to it's important you can dedicate your full atteniton to learning, self-development and career progression at the Academy.

Does Sparta Global have exit fees?

No. 

Is training in person or remote?

As of September 2022, all training remains remote and therefore our roles are open to passionate people across the UK & Ireland.

Can I choose which of your clients I work with and where?

In order to give our Spartans the opportunity to work in their first technical role as soon as possible - and soon after training has ended - we ask all Spartans to be flexible. We will assign Spartans to the organisations where their skills are in-demand and where we see the potential for a great cultural fit. However, we do take into consideration the individual passions of each of our Spartans to ensure they will be as happy as possible in their assigned position. All Spartans must also be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for roles. 

I want to work at Sparta Global, but I require visa support - can I apply?

You MUST have the right to work in the UK to be a successful Sparta Global applicant. 

You automatically have the right to work in the UK if: you're a British or Irish citizen, or you have pre-settled or settled status from the EU Settlement Scheme. We do not offer sponsorship or accept Graduate or PSW Visas and you will be disqualified if this is necessary. 

 

Are Spartans guaranteed a job when they complete training?

Our business is built on providing Spartans with career opportunities. We only run courses when there is demand in the industry. For this reason, we are confident every successful Spartan will find a job with us. This is also why we start to set up interviews as soon as you join the Academy and do not always wait for you to complete your training.

We cannot promise everyone a job. Spartans must still pass interviews with our clients and show the right attitude and aptitude to your future managers, but we assure all Spartans will have many opportunities to interview and secure roles, and all of the training and support they need to pass with flying colours. 

What happens if I need to withdraw from a course?

If you need to exit a training programme for personal reasons, we will keep your place open and allow you to re-join us later. We are an inclusive and fair employer and will address every individual's circumstances independently and support where we can. 

Can I work or study alongside the training with Sparta Global?

Our Academy training is fast-paced and intensive - designed to reflect the quick-changing nature of the technology industry. In addition to 9-5 training, our trainees also have work to complete in the evening to ensure they are digesting the lessons they have learned each day. We advise trainees cannot work or study alongside training, which is why our Spartans earn a salary from day one. 

When can I expect to be working in my first tech role?

75% of our trainees are assigned to their first roles before they complete their Academy training, while others may wait a short period before beginning work with a client. Should you be faced with a wait period between completing training and starting work with a client, our learning and development teams are on-hand to help you solidify and strengthen your knowledge base and make the most of your additional learning time. Please note: you will still receive a salary whilst you await your first role. 

Will you find me a job near to where I live?

We cannot guarantee job opportunities close to where you currently live and must ask all Spartans to be geographically flexible. As a company our goal is to act as a springboard for people who want to start a career in tech. To ensure our Spartans have access to the best career pathways, we do not want to restrict them to job opportunities only local to where they live. If this was to be the case, it would take much longer to get our people into work and being paid a stable salary. Being geographically flexible means you are not limited and can jump at any of the exceptional opportunities that come your way.

How do you ensure you are attracting diverse talent?

Diversity and inclusion is in our DNA, and considerations for improving the diversity of our tech workforce are clear across our talent attraction, training, delivery and support processes. Through the actions of our internal Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team, our staff are trained to support and champion underrepresented groups and give every individual an equal opportunity to kickstart a career in technology. We also work closely with more than 70 universities, community partners, and charities to work closely and directly with the underserved communities we want to help.

How many Spartans can be delivered at any one time?

Sparta Global attracts, trains and hires business and technology professionals year-round. The number of Spartans we deliver is strongly influenced by the demand amongst our client base and how many professionals they are looking to onboard. For this reason, Spartans are immediately available for long or short-term deployments throughout the year.

However, larger team deployments may require more advanced planning with a client's dedicated Account Manager and our Academy or Delivery teams.
