November Spartan of the Month: Georgia Stanley

After graduating with a First-Class Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from The Open University, Georgia joined Sparta Global in September 2025 to launch her career in Tech through the DevOps pathway. Her time at the Academy strengthened her technical capabilities, built her confidence, and equipped her with the resilience and practical skills needed for success. Now working in the public sector within an identity and access management team, she supports key operational processes while embracing opportunities to innovate and streamline workflows. Recently named one of our Spartans of the Month, Georgia is proud to have her dedication, growth, and passion for technology recognised.

Congratulations Georgia, on being named one of our Spartans of the Month! How did it feel when you found out?
Being named Spartan of the Month was a really rewarding experience. It felt great to have my hard work recognised, and it’s motivated me to keep pushing myself and keep the momentum up.

Let’s start at the beginning, what did you study at university?
I recently graduated from The Open University with a First Class Honours degree in English Literature and Creative Writing.

What made you decide that Sparta Global was the right career move for you?
I knew Sparta Global was the right move because it offered me the chance to build the career I wanted without going into debt or sacrificing my income. I was drawn to the hands-on training, real project experience, and the supportive community. It felt like a place where I could grow my skills and be part of a team that genuinely invests in its people.

When did you join Sparta?
I joined Sparta Global in September 2025, studying DevOps under Ramon Rossi.

How did you find your training experience at the Academy?
Training was both challenging and rewarding. It pushed me far beyond my comfort zone and helped me develop skills I didn’t know I was capable of. With support from knowledgeable trainers and encouraging colleagues, I overcame technical hurdles and built confidence and resilience. It showed me I’m capable of more than I realised and prepared me with the mindset and skills I need for the workplace.

Can you tell us about any connections you built whilst at Sparta?
Absolutely. I built great connections within my cohort and with Spartans from other cohorts. Working closely together created a supportive network where we shared knowledge and celebrated each other’s progress. I’ve also connected with consultants already placed at the company I work with now, which has given me valuable insight into career paths and expectations.

Where are you working now, and what’s your role?
I’m currently part of an identity and access management team within the public sector, a role I’ve held since June 2025.

Can you tell us a little about your day-to-day responsibilities?
I can’t share too much due to security clearance restrictions, but I assist in triaging access queries and environment creation.

How have you found your first role in Tech?
I don’t think I could be happier with my first tech role. I really enjoy working with my team, and the day-to-day tasks are engaging and motivating. There’s a lot of scope for creating automation solutions, which the department encourages and values. Being in an environment that supports innovation has made the role even more rewarding.

Do you feel you now have the passion and skills to build a long-term career in tech?
I know I have the passion, and I’m continuously building the skills to match it. As long as I stay determined, keep upskilling, and bring my authentic self to work, I’m confident I can build a long and fulfilling career in technology.

Would you recommend Sparta to other graduates and if so – why?
Absolutely. I’d recommend Sparta not just to graduates, but to anyone who feels stuck or uncertain about their career path. Sparta gave me the support and training to explore new opportunities and realise what I’m capable of. It opened my eyes to the possibilities in tech, helped me build confidence, and connected me with a community that encourages growth. It’s an experience that can genuinely transform your career trajectory.
