Today Sparta Global has been announced as one of 252 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise, and one of just eight companies to be awarded for its excellence in Promoting Opportunity (social mobility).

What are the King’s Awards?

Previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, were renamed last year to reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II by recognising outstanding UK businesses. The Award programme, now in its 58th year, is the most prestigious business award in the country.

Why has Sparta Global been recognised?

Recognised for Promoting Opportunity, Sparta Global has been credited for delivering an impressive social mobility programme that opens the door for those from disadvantaged backgrounds to explore careers in technology, regardless of background, and with good outcomes in a sector suffering from a significant skills gap.

We believe traditional talent attraction excludes much of the UK’s highest potential people. This is why Sparta Global is bridging the digital skills gap by hiring, training, and developing passionate people from largely underrepresented communities. By removing barriers to entry for those from non-STEM backgrounds and minority groups, we are building a pipeline of future leaders who have diverse thoughts and perspectives that will add significant value to our client partners.

How we promote opportunity

  • Inclusive hiring processes: no prior experience in technology needed and no degree entry requirements
  • Funded, full-time training
  • A salary paid from day one – with regular pay increases to reflect progression
  • Pastoral and professional support network
  • Continuous learning opportunities
  • Charity and community partnerships with dedicated social mobility foundations

Quotation mark

The circumstances of someone’s birth or upbringing should never determine or define their outcomes in life. This is why Sparta Global was founded - to promote and provide equitable access to technology careers, whilst also helping organisations to build talent pipelines populated with diverse people and perspectives. The prestigious King’s Award for Promoting Opportunity recognises the insatiable appetite of the Sparta Global employees, clients, and investors, to make a sustained social impact and put purpose above profit. I am incredibly proud of the people from under-represented backgrounds forging technology careers with Sparta Global and look forward to seeing them leading organisations in the future.
