Marking Social Mobility Day 2025, Sparta Global has announced an ambitious, nationwide 10,000 futures campaign; a powerful commitment to break down barriers for careers in technology and drive inclusive innovation across the UK.

London, 12 June 2025 – Marking Social Mobility Day 2025, Sparta Global has announced an ambitious, nationwide 10,000 futures campaign; a powerful commitment to break down barriers for careers in technology and drive inclusive innovation across the UK.

Social Mobility Day 2025 highlights the urgent need to shift social mobility from buzzword to business strategy- encouraging organisations to build truly diverse, forward-thinking teams. In support of this mission, the Sparta Global Group is launching Sparta Education, an EdTech platform that provides:

  • Remote learning opportunities for people of all backgrounds
  • Free access to self-paced learning, out of hours skills sessions, and trainer-led online skills sprints and camps
  • Dedicated career pathways designed to build work-ready skills in areas such as Data, DevOps, AI, Software Development, and more

Recognising that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not, Sparta Global will also partner with grassroots and community organisations dedicated to uplifting individuals from underrepresented and socio-economically diverse backgrounds. Additionally, the company is continuing to evolve its inclusive hiring practices, removing traditional barriers and opening doors for those too often overlooked in tech.

According to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the UK’s NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) rate for 16 to 24-year-olds stands at 12.2%, with 872,000 young people now out of work, education or training - a rise of 228,000 since NEET levels were at a low of 9.5% in August 2021.

“These people do not lack potential, but opportunity,” said David Rai, CEO of Sparta Global. “To unlock the UK’s full economic potential, we must invest in people. Those currently unemployed represent untapped talent with the power to drive innovation, close critical skills gaps, and revitalise industries.”

The demand for digital talent is soaring. A 2023 report from Ernst & Young and iMocha, Tech Skills Transformation – Navigating the Future of Work in 2025 and Beyond, revealed that 80% of organisations report a critical shortage of skilled tech workers.

David Rai added: “Providing a pathway for those in the NEET community to access digital skills training could be truly transformative. Government and business must work together to remove barriers to upskilling and create accessible, inclusive routes into meaningful tech careers.”

Jennie Galbraith, ESG Director at Inflexion, Sparta Global’s private equity partner, says; “We are delighted to support Sparta Global with this mission to change 10,000 futures and double down on social mobility actions. It underscores Sparta Global’s unwavering belief that unlocking the potential of underrepresented talent is key to closing the UK’s digital skills gap and driving long-term economic growth. Social mobility is important to us as investors, and we continue to work with other businesses in our portfolio to foster opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds.”

Sparta Global is a business and technology services and education company, helping businesses to build digital capability through the provision of consultants trained at Academies across the UK.

Sparta Global is the first B Corp certified HTD provider, a top 15 employer for Social Mobility, and King’s Award for Enterprise winner, that now hires, trains, and deploys diverse technology talent to more than 100 public and private sector organisations across the UK and Ireland.
