Sparta Global hosts first Sheffield Social

Sparta Global’s Sheffield cohort held their first social event, bringing our Spartans together outside the workplace to connect, unwind, and strengthen team relationships.

At Sparta Global, we believe that efficient teams are built on collaboration and a sense of community. This spirit was at the heart of our Sheffield cohort's first Spartan Social, a few weeks ago.

The event began as a spontaneous idea from fellow Spartan, Diben Pun, and quickly took shape thanks to the efforts of Kieron Phillips and Thomas Yellen. Together, they organised a relaxed and inclusive evening for Spartans currently placed at a Tier 1 Bank.

Hosted at the Roxy Ballroom - a lively venue near the Sheffield office - the social offered friendly competition through games like Shuffleboard, American Pool, and Table Tennis.

Kieron described in his write-up:
"The tone of the evening was set from the get-go: relaxed, friendly and engaging. This wasn’t just a general work gathering - managers and colleagues had the opportunity to wind down and connect outside of just talking shop, fostering new friendships and bringing our team closer together."

A casual food spread helped to keep energy levels high, fuelling conversation and connection throughout the evening. With a memorable moment coming from the arrival of Nikhil Jha, who came all the way from Birmingham to join the gathering - a perfect example of the strong, connected culture across the Spartan community.

We are incredibly proud of the Sheffield team for taking the initiative to bring their colleagues together outside of the workplace and especially to Kieron Phillips for both co-organising the event but capturing it's spirit so well.

"I look forward to the next Spartan Social event, be it in Sheffield or with Spartans in other areas of the country," Kieron wrote. "I am forever proud and grateful to represent Sparta at the workplace and the opportunies that I have been granted"

As Sparta Global continues to expand and come together, we look forward to more moments like these, centered by camaraderie and connection.
