Sparta Global named top 15 employer for social mobility in the UK

Today Sparta Global has been positioned as the 15th best employer in the 2023 Social Mobility Employer Index – making it the highest-ranking Hire-Train-Deploy (HTD) provider listed!

31 October 2023, London: Today Sparta Global has been positioned as the 15th best employer in the 2023 Social Mobility Employer Index – recognised for its excellence as a rounded, social impact business and making it the highest-ranking Hire-Train-Deploy (HTD) provider listed.

The Social Mobility Employer Index is the leading authority on employer-led social mobility and the companies named in the Index must go through a rigorous assessment of the steps being taken  to ensure talent from all social backgrounds can get in and get on in their organisations. Employers are assessed across eight key areas: work with people, routes into the employer, attraction, recruitment and selection, data collection, advocacy, progression, culture and experienced hires, and finally – an employee survey.

2023 marks the UK charity, the Social Mobility Foundation’s [SMF], seventh annual Employer Index, with 143 organisations entering.

Sparta Global CEO, David Rai, commented; “Sparta Global was founded to promote and provide equitable access to technology careers, whilst also helping organisations to grow their talent pipelines sustainably and responsibly through our innovative HTD model.

Our position as the first B Corp certified HTD company and 15th organisation on the Social Mobility Employer Index recognises that our corporate mission, values and long-term vision remain aligned with what we wanted to achieve when we launched almost a decade ago.”

In total, the 75 Social Mobility Employer Index entrants employ more than 1 million people (1,082,348) and their commitment helps to ensure there is equity in who can access employment and has the opportunity to succeed in their career.

Purnima Sen, Chief People and Compliance Officer, adds; “Our inclusion in the Social Mobility Foundation Employer Index is welcome recognition for the hard work of our teams to tap into the potential of overlooked talent from all socio-economic backgrounds and support them in their early careers.

To achieve top 15 status really evidences our continued commitment to democratising digital training and careers and being a social impact business that prioritises purpose over profit. I am incredibly proud of the diverse talent community we have built at Sparta Global and how we continue to lead, learn, and share our knowledge of how to support social mobility with other organisations in the technology space.”
